Dear NAME,

Imagine a warehouse with hundreds of hammers, thousands of gloves, scores of ladders, and dozens of other types of tools for lending to nonprofit organizations for use in community revitalization projects. The Cincinnati Community ToolBank will guarantee that every volunteer is equipped with the tools they need to get the job done! ToolBank tools encourage nonprofits to think big, perform larger and more ambitious projects, and fully engage more skillful volunteers.

I have joined the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati ToolBank, which will open in the fall of 2011 and will immediately provide quick and reliable access to an abundance of high-quality tools to volunteers for use in service projects. The Cincinnati ToolBank is the fourth affiliate of the new national network of ToolBanks, in partnership with its national non-profit organization, ToolBank USA.

As a member of the growing network of ToolBanks, Cincinnati will enjoy the scalability of core business systems leveraged by ToolBank USA. This unique collaboration empowers the Cincinnati ToolBank to focus on providing a superior customer service experience with every tool lending transaction. ToolBank USA also provides ongoing training opportunities, inventory expansion resources, and key funding introductions.

My fellow directors of the Cincinnati Community ToolBank and I are working to develop partnerships that demonstrate strong local support for this effort. We plan to raise $175,000 and are already well on our way to reaching that goal, thanks to support from The Home Depot Foundation and Stanley Black & Decker. I am helping to develop new partnerships that will make the Cincinnati Community ToolBank vision become a reality.

I am confident that you will share my excitement about the Cincinnati Community ToolBank. I’d like to schedule a brief meeting with you to talk further about the ToolBank, and the profound value it brings to our community. I will call next week to discuss further. Thank you.

Respectfully yours,
